How to apply for a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Taxi Licence

Contact your local authority for an application form for the licence that you require, either Hackney Carriage or Private Hire.

Fill the application form in and take it back to your local authority with:

* The correct fee (you will be advised on the current fee accompanying the application form)

* Your DVLA Driving Licence (You must have held a full driving licence for at least 12 months at the date of application)

* 2 Photographs (Colour passport size, showing a true likeness-avoid hats and sun glasses)

* Medical certificate completed by a doctor.

* DSA Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Taxi Test Pass Certificate

* Criminal Bureau Disclosure Application (Completed - form is supplied with application pack)
